Registration:

Registration for the 2012 LYF season will open during the first two weeks of February.  A broad announcement will go out to last years participants, but feel free to give them a heads up.  The fees will remain unchanged at $150 for the 2012 season.  One very notable change is the high school football camp, normally $80, will be included as part of the registration fee.  So for $150 players will receive all their normal gear(helmet, shoulder pads, etc.), new game jersey, practice jersey, 2 day football camp run by the high school coaching staff, and a camp t-shirt.  This is a significant change and one that the board feels brings incremental value to not only the participants but the broader Loveland football program.

Coaches Clinic:

Currently the target dates for the youth coaches clinic at Loveland High School are either April 21st or the 28th.  I will be confirming this week with Coach Marlatt and communicate as that date is locked down.  Remember, this clinic is a multi-organization clinic run at the high school free of charge.

Youth Football Camp:

As you read, the youth football clinic will now be included as part of the registration fees for LYF.  The clinic dates are July 23rd and 24th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the high school.  The clinic will also serve as your first two days of non-contact practice for your team.  Key takeaway here, EVERY teams first day of practice this season will be on July 23rd and will be run by the Loveland High School football staff.  The clinic will be run with both individual and team sessions, so head coaches will be required to attend the camp.  After the two day camp, each team will be required to hold one more non-contact practice prior to any contact drills (remember every player must have 3 days of non contact practice, so if a player misses the camp they will need to make up for those days).

2011 Coach Feedback:

Over the next several weeks every family that participated in the 2011 season will receive a blast e-mail survey regarding their 2011 experience.  This survey will be anonymous so as to encourage broad participation.  Going forward participant feedback on the coaching and the “youth football experience” will be completed at the conclusion of each season.  The board will be putting a process in place to share the results with each coach and the best way to utilize the feedback during coaches interviews for the 2012 season.
